I really loved every aspect of this place. Friendly crew, enormous space, yummy food etc.. The dosa varieties are so tasty and you can just stop eating till your tummy says so. Hope I will have the same good taste on my further visits. Worth the money I paid. Not sure how many are concerned about this, but during my last visit, I was impressed with the way they maintained their restroom.

We visited for the dosa buffet on a Wed and the dosas were amazingly tasty and also the regular food items. Service was excellent and Bhupathi provided good suggestions to try out the various dosas! A must try! A tip for dosa buffets - don't eat too much of the other buffet items for dosa buffet - keep your stomach half empty so you can really savor and enjoy the dosas. My favorites were gongura dosa (bit spicy but had a great combo with the tomato chutney); ghee dosa; andhara spicy masala dosa and nutella dosa!!

Rivaj is wonderful! The hubs and I came here on a recommendation from my colleague. That is one of the many benefits of working in a multicultural team, you get to learn the best places to enjoy foods from around the globe from those who know how to qualify the really great food from the less authentic versions. And this was some of the best Indian food we have experienced in the US. The star of the show - Boneless Chicken Biryani. The spices were so flavorful, the chicken super tender, and the heat level was perfect. Every time I took a bite, I couldn’t help but stop and smile at the savory, balanced flavors. Chana Masala - this is one of my favorite go-to dishes and it did not disappoint. Perfectly creamy, with a slight body still in the chickpeas (meaning not over cooked or mushy). Chicken Hyderabadi- this was spiced so well! Enough to leave heat in your mouth, but not to overwhelm. Garden Salad - pairs perfectly with every dish, and is dressed with some spices, herbs, and a squeeze of fresh lemon. Do not overlook this when ordering, as it really balances everything and the brightness of the red onion transforms already great food to a whole new taste. Garlic Naan - don’t overlook this either. Their garlic naan is delicious and doesn’t feel overly heavy on the seasoning. We can’t wait to try other dishes from Rivaj as well! Highly recommend everything we had. Note: we didn’t ask for any specific spice level, but all the food came out perfectly spiced and seasoned.

We went to Rivaj today for their lunch buffet. Overall, the experience was great. In the past few times we’ve been here, the food has tasted bad or service was poor, but today both were good. All the items in the buffet were excellent, especially the mango salad - it was top notch. The rest of the appetizers, entrees, and sweets were good too. They also had 4 different biryani/rice varieties. However, the only item we didn’t like was the mango curd rice. These two things just didn’t mix well together - so it would’ve been better if there was a dish for plain curd rice and a separate dish for mango pulp instead. Also, they didn’t have any raitha for the biryanis or chutneys/sauces for the appetizers. Idlies were very fragile and started breaking before you could even put it on your plate, but they tasted fine. That being said, I’d for sure come back to have more of their delicious food in the future! Also, there was a robot running around the restaurant which was fun to watch lol

DECENT BUFFET!! I went to this place in a group of 10 ladies. We had a reservation for a buffet lunch. It was nice to have the option of both veg and non-vegetarian foods for an Indian lunch. They had a welcome Rooha Afza drink which no one was interested in. They had only 1 curry (palak paneer) and dal (makhani) for entree (in veg option). They had mushroom and paneer biryani which had whole spices that personally annoyed me while eating. The starter chole samosa chaat was good and mildly spiced. I couldn’t have daal makhani as it was very hot for my palate. The palak paneer tasted authentic and paired well with naan. The waitress Ms. Pallavi was very friendly and made sure we were doing well. She also brought Gralic naan to our table which was not at the buffet table. Unfortunately, I was almost done with my lunch and couldn’t taste it. They should have brought it at the beginning of our lunch. We were charged around $25 per person which was way higher than the usual price of buffet lunch. They should have either informed us about the additional price for reservations or could have at least taken our opinion on deciding the menu. Many of us wanted veg noodles/fried rice/ Manchurian etc instead of pasta noodles that was offered.

Always such excellent options at the Sunday buffets they have! Chicken biryani, paneer butter masala, chicken kadai, mixed veggie pakora. Those were just some of the offerings from today's buffet (3/10). The offerings change EVERY Sunday so theres always something fresh and delicious to try! For $19.99 (plus tax) it is worth it to come to Rivaj! That and their regular menu offerings are awesome so please support this local restaurant in the Buffalo Grove

Tried Rivaj Indian Cuisine for lunch on a Friday and we were not disappointed! I’m sad that we were the only people there. We ordered Veggie Samosa, they were super fresh and hot! The chutneys were delicious and thicker than normal. Keema Dosa (18 Kinds of Dosa!!) with tomato and coconut chat. So, soooo buttery and delicious. The dosa was crispy and light at the edges but slightly chewy in the middle. I don’t know dosa well enough to know if that’s how it’s *supposed* to be, but it was my favorite part of my lunch! Chicken Chettinad - big, tender chicken thigh pieces in a tasty coconut, cardamom, and clove curry. The medium heat version was just a tiny bit spicy and it came with rice, but our server said it’s better with Naan for dipping. So, we ordered naan to try, too! The naan was a bit crispier than what I’m used to from other places but delicious. Husband ordered chicken biryani and said the rice was a bit dryer than he prefers but that overall it was delicious. Medium spicy is *plenty* spicy as a South Indian dish. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and had plenty of leftovers for additional meals since we wanted to try a variety of dishes. The staff was super kind and helpful with our questions. I’m definitely going back to try ALLLLL the Dosas!

This place really had a delicious food! We ordered a special chicken briyani and a non veg thali. It was excellent taste and the service was great! I would highly recommend this place to try out the food.
